Egg Creation

THE ULTIMATE COLLABORATION

The Champagne Egg Creation is the result of the union: a work of art inspired by Theo Fabergé's designs and a rare Champagne created by the Château de Bligny: two entities, two elements: a collector's Creation to seal this partnership. The two-part objet is an Egg when placed together.

A SCARCITY BOTTLE

The Clos du Château de Bligny is a rarity in Champagne. In 2004, the Rapeneau Family decided to create the ultimate exception in Champagne : the only Clos as a Chateau in Champagne with the 6 varietals authorized by the appellation (3 current traditional grape varieties and 3 grape varieties used in the past). This Brut Nature and vintage cuvée is also produced only in exceptional years in very limited quantities. A rare and exceptional Champagne which expresses the character of the year 2013. The label of the bottle, in polished tin, was especially designed for this occasion. It perfectly matches the curves of Theo Fabergé's item to form the upper part of the Egg.

A PRECIOUS PIECE OF ART - THE ULTIMATE EGG

Inspired by creations by Theo Fabergé, the body of the Coaster is made from Brass, Sterling Silver and Gold. The Fabergé swags are set with six sparkling, hand faceted rubies, Theo Fabergé's favourite gemstone, which represent the 6 grape varieties that make up the cuvée. Produced in a limited series, the Coasters are all numbered and engraved with Theo Fabergé's signature.

FAMILY CRAFTS
The Maison Fabergé was founded in 1842 by Gustav Fabergé and was taken over by his son Carl Faberge. In 1903, the youngest of Carl Fabergé's sons, Nicholas, moved to London to help open their only overseas branch. Nicholas' son Theo Fabergé was born in London in 1922, making 2022 the year of his Centenary. Theo perpetuates the tradition, designing Creations, many in shape of an Egg.

THE FIRST LINK WITH CHAMPAGNE
Originally, the Fabergé Family’s surname was Favri in the 16th Century, and the family lived in La Bouteille in the Picardy Region, approximately 90 km north of Reims. The name “Fabergé” was adopted by latest 1825.
